Neck & Back Pain
How chiropractic care helps treat neck and back pain
Back Pain

Back pain is the most common condition seen in a chiropractor’s clinic. There are various causes of back pain including trauma, posture, work related activities, sports injuries, hereditary problems, underlying serious conditions and referred pain from organs. Our chiropractors are trained to identify the exact cause of your back pain and provide a specific and appropriate diagnosis and management plan in order to achieve relief or a cure for your pain. Our clinic, covering Coventry, Warwick, Warwickshire, Kenilworth and Leamington Spa, offers treatments covering all these problems and more.
The spine is the central support mechanism that serves the body, and as such any pain or discomfort here should be investigated. As should any associated problems such as sciatica and leg pain neck and arm pain. The chiropractic methods performed by our highly skilled team will help to protect and maintain the spine and help to treat back pain and related issues.

Pressure or irritation of the spinal nerves can lead to back pain, or ‘referred’ pain, in an area through which those nerves pass. Sciatica, for instance, is caused by nerve irritation or pressure in the lower spine, which refers pain to the legs. If you are suffering from these conditions in the Coventry, Warwick, Warwickshire, Kenilworth and Leamington Spa areas then please contact us today to arrange a consultation.
Back Problems

Spinal manipulation can help back problems, particularly if it is carried out within the first six weeks of pain occurring. The length in time you have been in pain is in direct correlation with the length of treatment required. The early identification of a problem is important but our chiropractors can also treat longer-term or chronic aches.
Our chiropractors can also advise about long-term solutions to back problems by providing advice about posture and exercise programs, and assist you to resolve your back issues.
Neck Pain

Neck pain is becoming an increasingly common problem dealt with by chiropractors. A pain in the neck caused by sports injuries, road traffic accidents or repetitive strain can come from muscular pain, a trapped nerve or arthritis-like symptoms.

Any small tinges or harsher pains should be referred to a chiropractor, to see what they can do for you. As the neck is an essential component of movement and flexibility of the head, it is paramount to keep it in good working order.
Chiropractors can test movements of the neck, and highlight any trapped nerves or muscle damage that may be present.

You may only suffer from acute neck pain for a short amount of time and not require treatment. Short term problems after thorough evaluation may not always require treatment, where treatment is necessary however chiropractic techniques may include spinal adjusting or manipulation, soft tissue techniques, acupuncture, and a comprehensive home rehabilitation exercise programme.
Slipped Disc Resolutions

A slipped disc can cause a large amount of pain and discomfort. Between every vertebra is a disc which acts as a shock absorber against stresses such as lifting and bending. A slipped disc occurs as a result of repetitive stress being applied to these discs or due to a single over loading.

The outer portion of the disc ruptures or splits and the gel like inner disc material then bulges out putting pressure on a neighbouring nerve. This often results not only in significant pain but also in decreased function of the involved nerve with symptoms such as referred pain, numbness, tingling and weakness in the areas that the nerve supplies such as the legs or arms.
